About BiPSA
BiPSA is a binary atomic view of the world. Activity and decisions are engendered from binary tension: yes vs. no, positive vs. negative, hot vs. cold, yin vs. yang, up vs. down, more vs. less etc. The rival notion of sameness and oneness can only become real if contrasted with external entities (and hence it is a total of "two" not "one"). Pure and exclusive unification is completely inactive, akin to nothingness. Hence it is the binary that underlies the dynamics of existence.
And if so then let us extend the binary view to the atomic ingredients of our subject matter. That means that issues are expressed as a cascade of binary decisions voted on by the smallest entities in the case. Like in nature: the eye sends to the brain a myriad of optic data, each of which votes on whether the person we are looking at is smiling or frowning, and the brain integrates these votes, with all their conflicting opinions to a summary decision to act upon. The integration transpires within a neural network. Similarly in BiPSA one would estimate if a stock is going up or down based on a myriad of relevant data, each votes one way or the other. The binary voters may be either data elements, or human beings. The key is to properly distribute the voting-impact of each voter. Some BiPSA applications integrate peoples' votes only, (e.g.: opinion calculus), other integrate data only (e.g.: image inferential). BiPSA is based on a mathematical framework developed for the purpose: reduction
arithmetic and algebra.
Having its origins in handling the uncertainty of estimates, the binary clarity of BiPSA soon has expressed itself as an effective tool for management, self organization and social dynamics. The BiPSA paradigm is unfolding as we speak.
BiPSA, now a proper name, was formed as an acronym: Binary Polling Scenario Analysis.
BiPSA was developed by Dr. Gideon Samid. It was partly researched at the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology and was practiced in a large variety of applications. The Gideon Samid BiPSA Company was founded as an R&D, promotion and licensing center.

BiPSA Mathematica:
Integrating many or few binary votes is the heart of BiPSA. It is carried out via a specially formulated binary arithmetic and its corresponding binary algebra. The fundamental operator is a reduction algorithm defined over n input variables expressed as integers. The BiPSA algorithm reduces these inputs to a single variable of the same format. That output can participate as an input in a subsequent instance of the same algorithm thereby allowing for a network of reduction-expansion algorithms. The threaded BiPSA network has been formalized as an analog to matrix algebra and notation, and it captures the integration wisdom that allots each BiPSA vote (variable) its due impact on the final result. The BiPSA reduction arithmetic and algebra is essentially a one-way function and has been applied as such to a variety of cryptographic procedures.

Data mining and statistical inference over large and complex databases have become very common and very useful in recent years. BiPSA competes with the prevailing methodologies by its relentless practice of discriminant analysis.

BiPSA Forecasting:
The common way to forecast the future, or project to the unknown, is to study the available relevant data, then building a theory that is suggested by that data, and then applying this theory to the future, or to the unknown of interest (e.g.: linear regression, quadratic regression, etc). BiPSA skips the step of conjuring up a theory, instead it expresses the unknown as a series of binary questions, each voted on by each and every subset of the available data. Because it is independent of the common methods, and because we deal with uncertainty, BiPSA forecasting is a worthy effort regardless of whether in any particular case it measures better or worse than any other independent forecasting methodology.

BiPSA Opinion Calculus:
People express opinions in a complex fashion: hedged, vague, conditional. BiPSA skims the certainty element in these bubbly entities, and thereby encourages more ground breaking progress, as well as summarizing what the collection of these opinions means in its totality.

BiPSA Rating and Ranking:
Industry and Business rely heavily on ranking and rating of products,
financial instruments, institutions, and people. Virtually always the
ranking involves several attributes. While the attributes themselves
may be objectively measured, their relative impact is a subjective
call. In most cases the rating agency arbitrarily determines these
factors, thereby undermining the objectiveity of their result.
BiPSA offers a result-neutral procedure to rate and rank multi-variate
entities. The BiPSA way removes any hidden factors from the
control of the BiPSA operator who computes the rating and the ranking.
The procedure is fully transparent, and easy to read.

![]() BiPSA Image Inferential: Cameras and general electromagnetic imaging are everywhere, and in most cases the purpose of the picture is to deduce a conclusion from it. That conclusion can be expressed as series of binary questions, and each question can be voted on by each and every part of the total image. BiPSA would subsequently integrate those votes to arrive at a most credible answer. The common methods are based on an a-priori picture enhancement. Such enhancement is necessarily based on arbitrary assumptions that contaminate the final conclusion. BiPSA circumvents this step, and polls directly the factual parts of the image.

![]() BiPSA Crisis Management: Clock haunted crises are typically managed by one or very few people who don't have the mindset nor the complete knowledge base to optimize their response. BiPSA offers to surround the crisis management team with a group of experts that together cover all the aspects of the case. The practical problem is that the crisis management team does not have the luxury of time to debate their counter measures with that larger team of experts. The BiPSA crisis management procedure would define a series of binary questions for the larger team to vote on. These votes are BiPSA integrated to reflect a greater impact to more relevant experts, providing the crisis management team with a clear summary view of all those experts they have no time to discuss with.

By its very nature, intelligence input is a hodgepodge of heterogeneous and conflicting data, which can be all made to vote on a series of critical binary questions regarding war and peace.
